LOOKING GOOD SIR!

George Strait Was Turned Down by Every Major Label in Nashville Strange but true: George Strait came to Nashville in 1977 in a Dodge cargo van, but he didn't have a song on country radio for another four years. Why? "The truth of the matter is that every major label passed on George Strait," longtime friend Kent Finlay, who rode with Strait in that Dodge cargo van, tells The Tennessean. So George started playing at a small club called the Hall of Fame Lounge in Nashville. Once he caught fire, though, George never stopped, and he's now the 12th best-selling artist of all time, and the second best-selling country artist behind Garth Brooks. George plays his Nashville stop of his final tour Friday night (March 21). - Story from countryweekly.com
