KCinfertility hosts it’s 9th Annual Family Building Conference on Saturday, April 27th at Johnson County Community College.
The conference, which takes place during National Infertility Awareness Week, brings local experts and a community panel together to discuss various topics regarding infertility. Doors open at 9am for check-in and exhibitor booths, followed by a day full of informative speakers and diverse infertility topics.
New this year, KCinfertility’s keynote speaker is Anna Almendrala, co-host of the popular podcast IVFML. “We are so excited to have Anna Almendrala as our 2019 keynote speaker. Anna not only brings a wealth of knowledge that showcases diverse aspects of infertility, but she also brings her deeply personal experience through infertility, loss and IVF,” stated Amelia Howard, Conference Co-Chair and KCinfertility board member. KCinfertility has also extended the conference hours. “Past attendees wanted access to more breakout sessions; therefore, we will be hosting an extended conference that will run between 10am – 3pm and will include lunch. Attendees will be able to attend three breakout sessions in addition to the keynote session and take part in a facilitated discussion during the lunch hour based on the topic of their choosing,” explained Felisha Parker, Conference Co-Chair and KCinfertility board member.
Lastly, KCinfertility will be giving away three $1,000 grants during the conference for attendees to use towards fertility treatment or adoption costs. These funds are distributed from the KCinfertility Family Building Grant program.
